This article will assist you with making sure that your dedicated graphics card is being used by 360fly Director on your Apple computer.
First, not all Apple computers have dedicated graphics hardware, some only have an integrated Intel chipset. To verify the hardware installed in your machine, simply click on the logo in the top left of your screen and choose "About This Mac." A window will show up on your screen like the one below:
As you can see in the example, this machine has both a dedicated graphics card as well as the integrated chip.
To ensure the best performance when exporting, sharing, or editing your videos in Director, follow these few steps to confirm that your dedicated graphics card is being used by your machine.
First, click on the logo in the top left of the screen and select "System Preferences" from the drop down.
Next, click on the "Energy Saver" icon in the second row.
Now click on the lock in the bottom left to unlock the settings to make changes. Please note that admin access is required to make this change. Once unlocked, if unchecked, check the box at the top of the screen to allow the dedicated graphics card to be used.
Now with the box checked, click on the unlocked lock icon in the bottom left to lock the settings in place. Note that this was done while on the "Power Adapter" tab, click on the "Battery" tab to verify that the dedicated card is being used while on battery as well.
That is it, the Director app on your Apple machine will now take advantage of the faster dedicated graphics card and you should see improved processing times moving forward.
